In the world of coworking, there is nothing more valuable than a testimonial from a happy member. This is perhaps even more valuable when it comes in the form of a Google review.
Google reviews are reviews given to you on your Google Business Profile. The more five star reviews you have, the better you’ll rank in search engines, and the more members you’ll acquire.
In this Coworking Quick Tip, we’re sharing with you tips to help you get more reviews for your coworking space Google profile so you can transform happy members into hot leads.
1. Optimize your Google Business Profile for reviews
The most fundamental part of getting more reviews is to make sure your Google Business Profile (GBP) is fully up-to-date and complete. A complete profile will not only help prospects find the information they need, it’ll also help you rank higher in search engines.
Setting up a Google Business Profile is completely free and highly recommended for coworking spaces of all shapes and sizes. According to Jerome Chang in our webinar, What Coworking Operators Need to Know in 2025, it is also your best way of competing with the big dogs.
- Ensure your Google Business Profile is fully complete with up-to-date information
- Add high-quality photos of your coworking space at least 2x a month

2. Make it as easy as possible for coworking members to leave a review
When it comes to collecting reviews, removing as much friction as possible is absolutely essential. The easier it is for members to review your space, the higher your chances of getting more reviews.
- Print and display QR codes around your coworking space linking directly to the review page (the front desk could be a good spot!)
- Include a “Leave us a review” link in your email signature
- Create an automated post-visit email asking new members for a review (you can do this using Optix Automations)
3. Ask members at the right time
Catch a happy member at the wrong time, and they could leave a less-than-pleasant review of your coworking space. As someone on their first day in the space, they may not feel comfortable enough to leave a review. All this to say, timing is everything in the world of reviews.
- After a member organically shares a piece of positive feedback with your team, ask if they would be willing to leave a review
- Implement a two-step ask: first, ask members if they’re happy with their experience, then follow up with a review request

4. Leverage your existing community
It’s never too late to ask for a review! Even if you’ve never asked your members for a review before and they’ve been a part of your community for many years, you can always run a campaign to garner more reviews from your community. They’re often happy to help!
- Run a member appreciation week where those leaving reviews get a small prize, like a discount on their membership
- Send an authentic email explaining how reviews help you as a small business owner and requesting reviews from any long-time members
5. Automate the review collection process
At Optix, we’re all about doing more with less. You can use Optix Automations to automate many parts of the review collection process, such as automating sending a review request after someone has been a member for three months or after someone repurchases a plan for the fifth time.
- Set up an automated email via your coworking software like Optix to request reviews at the right time
- Add a popup reminder in your white-labeled app encouraging reviews
- Automatically request a review via direct message after someone messages your community manager
6. Showcase and respond to reviews
Responding to reviews is huge. It shows that you not only care about your members, but you take feedback into consideration. Plus, responding to reviews can help your profile rank better by showing your are engaged.
- Highlight 5-star reviews on social media to encourage more members to leave theirs
- Always respond to every review, positive or negative, to show engagement and appreciation
- Use reviews in your marketing materials to reinforce their value
7. Address common review hesitation pain points
Sometimes people don’t feel comfortable writing a review because they have no idea what to say. You can help to squish some of the common review hesitation pain points by addressing needs up front.
- Solve the “I don’t know what to write” problem by providing review prompts (ie. “What’s your favorite part about working here?”)
- Remind members that reviews help support their own experience in the space
- Offer an incentive for the review
